2024 PE exam infographics and National Mocks available!

Dear PE colleagues, I want to use this week’s blog to share my thoughts on our recently published exam infographics and National Mock Exams for PE. Please take a read and consider downloading the resources if you feel they would be useful to you.

PE exam infographics 2024

I started analysing PE exams years ago. For many years, I used to provide “Hot topics” to my A-level PE students but I came to the conclusion that trying to predict a PE exam is a folly. It doesn’t work and it is potentially dangerous. However, I also discovered that exam paper analysis had other benefits. With this realisation, I started this process, which has now been standard practice for me for years:

Internally, we use all of this data to ensure that our resources are as accurate as possible but we also have the possibility of rendering the data further and providing PE teachers and students with grab-and-go infographics such as this:

From this data, we hope that teachers and students have a better insight into their upcoming exam (in this case, OCR A-level PE Paper 2). We provide the infographics completely for free but this is only step one of the journey.

PE National Mock Exams 2024

In 2021, my team and I began writing National Mock Exams. Bearing in mind that this was during the height of COVID, this provision was in exceptional demand and that demand has continued into 2022, 2023 and now –we hope– 2024.

My team and I have written National Mock Exams for:

  • AQA GCSE PE 9-1
    • Paper 1
    • Paper 2
  • Edexcel GCSE PE 9-1
    • Paper 1
    • Paper 2
  • OCR GCSE PE 9-1
    • Paper 1
    • Paper 2
  • CIE IGCSE GCSE PE 9-1 and 0413
  • WJEC GCSE PE
  • AQA A-level PE
    • Paper 1
    • Paper 2
  • Edexcel A-level PE
    • Paper 1
    • Paper 2
  • OCR A-level PE
    • Paper 1
    • Paper 2
    • Paper 3
  • OCR Nationals R180
  • OCR Nationals R184
  • BTEC Tech Component 3
  • BTEC Sport Unit 1
  • BTEC Sport & Exercise Science Unit 2
  • OCR Technical Unit 1

These papers are written to the highest standard and are exacting in relation to the requirements of the real external exams. They are also, clearly, based on the data analysis described in the upper half of this post.

There are 21 papers listed above. I would like you to reflect on that. Whilst it is definitely not a competition, I want you to reflect on the fact that AQA, say, write two GCSE PE and two A-level PE papers per year. That’s four. We write 21. I mention this because I want colleagues to be aware of the size of the effort to achieve this. Please, support us because we believe that this provision makes the PE sector better.

What's more, we don’t just provide 21 exam papers. No! We provide:

  • 18 exam infographics
  • 21 exam papers
  • 21 exam mark schemes
  • 21 sets of model answers
  • 21 National Diagnostic Reports for National Mock Exams
  • 21 sets of live revision notes
  • 21 live revision sessions

National mock exams are exclusively available to customers of TheEverLearner.com. If you would like access to the mocks, please do consider accessing a short-term subscription with us. Not only would you gain access to the mock papers but you would also have access to all of our PE and Sport theory revision tools for those crucial months ahead of the summer exams. You can find out more here: Short-term subscriptions at The EverLearner

Even looking at this list makes my head hurt.

So, what am I asking you to do? Simple! Support our work and cause us to need to do this every year because you demand it; download and use the resources; get your students learning; and post about your experience (not the mock itself, please) online on social media and get the conversation going.

I am incredibly proud to bring these resources to you and I hope that they benefit your learners.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.

James
