To every PE Teacher affected by the Middle East crisis: we are with you

Right now, PE teachers across the Middle East are facing something no educator should have to face. Schools closed. Exam seasons disrupted. Students caught in the middle of a crisis they did not choose.

If that is your situation, I want you to know: I see you and The EverLearner exists to help.

What is happening with exams in the Middle East

IB exams across the UAE and parts of the wider Gulf region have been officially cancelled for May 2026. OxfordAQA has replaced exams with Teacher Assessed Grades. Pearson Edexcel is expected to announce contingency measures imminently. Cambridge International has extended coursework deadlines, with exams still uncertain.

For PE teachers, this means one thing: your students need you to build a credible, defensible evidence base for their grades — and they need it now.

What we have decided to do to support teachers and students

The EverLearner is offering immediate, free support to PE departments affected by this crisis:

Why we asked permission first

Before making this decision, I wrote personally to every paying TEL customer. I explained the situation, set out what I proposed to do, and asked for their agreement.

This is the second time we have done this. In March 2020, when COVID-19 cancelled exams worldwide, I did exactly the same thing and the TEL community gave their blessing then, too.

I believe the people who pay for and sustain this platform deserve to be consulted before their support is redirected. The overwhelming response from our customers was clear: do it. Help them.

So that is what we are doing.

The CAG Guide

We have produced a comprehensive, free guide - Using TheEverLearner.com Data to Generate Centre Assessed Grades - which walks PE teachers step by step through the process of turning TEL platform data into defensible Centre Assessed Grades, Teacher Assessed Grades, or IB NECM predicted grades.

Whether you have used TEL for years or you are accessing it for the first time this week, this guide will show you exactly what evidence you have and how to use it.

What to do next

Your students are counting on you. You already have the tools and the data to deliver for them. This is what great teaching looks like.
